Well, happy spring Gooseheads!
Dale here, with the Lowdown.

We hope everyone is keeping a check on our Landings page for the concert dates nearest you.
The band is happy to be out there on the road visiting with fans again, playing that music we all love and spreading the Good Goose Word.
Our online message board is a popular Goose Oasis. Our website's Company Store has been humming along splendidly as well.
Rumor has it that the first three Goose Creek Symphony albums from Capitol Records are on CD and available for purchase. (No, you are not dreaming.)

A music distribution company in Atlanta is placing them in stores. We hope to have them in our online company store soon, here at the official Goose site on the web, www.goosecreeksymphony.com
The distribution company has gotten so many calls about the GCS CDs that they asked us not to advertise their phone number anymore. Now what does that tell ya right off?
We'll announce here on the site when we get them in stock. More later as we know more.
Deep Purple/Dixie Dregs guitarist Steve Morse mentioned Goose Creek Symphony when he was being interviewed for Guitar Player Magazine, May 2000 issue. Thanks Steve.
Charlie's Hillbilly Nation Poem was quoted in the February 28, 2000 issue of Time Magazine. It was in an article about the presidential primary in South Carolina.
Speaking of Hillbillies, GCS was in the Hillbilly Days Parade in Pikeville, Kentucky this year and did the concert later that day.
The Goose Creek Symphony Goin' Home T-shirt now being sold on the tour as well as on the Company Store page has really caught on. Not only do fans seem to love it, but it has been chosen by the T-shirt studio were it's made as the best design of the quarter and is up for T-shirt of the year at ScreenArt, the Middle Tennessee company that produces them for us.
I was not going to mention this, that yours truly designed it, but Pearl made me swear I'd put it in this Lowdown.

Matt's been working on videos, commercials and so forth, as production assistant at a film company in Nashville, and keeping everything together on his computer. We know Matt will master it, like he does most everything. He's ready to pound the heck out of those drums. Matt's so mean he has to take all that energy out on those drums or who knows what might happen!

Paul's been writing new songs and working in his home studio to cut some of his original tunes. Got to hear him play some of the new tunes when the Pearl visited the other day and we enjoyed 'em. Paul's been dying to play more music. The winter break gave him the mean ol' guitar jones. His New Grandson, Seren, is growing fast. Miana says he's getting huge and sure can eat! Paul said he was talking to Miana the other day and noticed that Seren has found his voice. "While we were on the phone, he was in the background talking up a storm--just babbling away. "He's a little doll," Paul reports.

Did you folks know Pearl can cook? Well, he's been quite famous in recent years for his HOT! salsa, which is SO hot it makes your ears burn, but ya can't stop eating it. You know that feeling. Too much is not enough. He's thinking of marketing his Serenerros Arizona-Style Salsa. The Pearl has also been enjoying baking his Jalapeno Cornbread. I haven't tasted it yet, but he gave me a few tips for making my own.

Doug says he stayed home in "GNASHVILLE" for the holidays which "was a nice change of pace." He's been playing bass sometimes with those groovy dudes, The Trailer Park Troubadours and also with the Chainsmoking Altar Boys, who are releasing their second album. He says he's started writing again and he's contemplating a few other special projects. Mostly, he's been biding his time until warm weather, so he can get back onto the golf course.

Charlie's been busy. But not too busy to fish, of course. He and Travis got to fish a few days while in Arizona this winter. He's also working on some new songs which sound totally cool.

Travis, our ultra-snazzy live sound engineer, has been learning his way around the recording studio recently. He and some buddies have been recording and Travis has gone back to banging the drums for a few tracks. He also plays his Yamaha and writes some heavy metal grooves. Travis, Stevie and Ryan jam EVERY chance they get.

Johnny Ray is doing some remodeling work and is ready for the road. He made it to the Everglades on New Years Eve for the big Phish show. His baby girl pit bull (Colby terrier) has grown all winter and is about too big to fit in the truck now. JRay has found some rural acreage and is ready to start building as soon as possible. Says he wants to build a cabin in the woods where he can say "hi" to the toad.

Gary has not laid his fiddle down, but has been playing here, there and everywhere. He was able to visit with Charlie and Carolyn recently and it became a party. Zorox even showed up.

Excitement is building for this season's concerts. The tour is sure to be historic for devoted Gooseheads and for first-timers too. Do NOT miss GOOSE 2000!

Later with the Lowdown,
Dale

Webmaster Dave's Crazy Comments:
Hey, everyone! Not too much new stuff going on with the goose site. Some new Small stuff:
Johnny Ray finally gets his biography page.
New lowdown (duh)
Our Goose List Email distribtion has been established. If you would like to recieve periodic announcements and news, (and haven't done so already) be sure and put your email address into the guestbook. We accidentally sent out a test message to some of you, but at least we now know that everything is working. Thanks for bearing with us.

The message board is still new and interesting, with over 9000 hits since it's release.
We will eventually be putting up sound clips from the Goin' Home CD. Most likely the audio will be in MPEG 3 Format (.MP3) which can play highly compressed, CD-quality music on any Power Mac or Pentium PC. More info will become available as we get closer to having it ready. I think we are leaning towards putting the Title track of Goin' Home on the web site for a free download. Let us know what you think.
Also we have new items for a new catalog in the company store. We will post a notice on the home page when the revisions occur.
As the website matures we listen to your input about things you would like to see up on the web. If you have any ideas or suggestions let us know!
